
Beranang, 14 June 2025 – The 2025 Affin Group Bufori EViE Cup came to a thrilling conclusion on Saturday at the Horizon Beranang Circuit, where five passionate teams from four schools competed in a race of engineering skill, strategy, and determination. Proudly supported by Affin Group as the title sponsor, the event brought together Malaysia’s brightest young minds for a full-day motorsport showdown under the banner of sustainability and innovation.
The event was graced by Mr. Risham Akashah bin Kamaruzaman, Group Chief Technology & Operating Officer of Affin Group, who waved the checkered flag at the finish and presented trophies to the winning teams during the prize-giving ceremony. His presence underscored Affin Group’s strong commitment to supporting youth development, STEM education, and green technology initiatives.
The competition saw teams racing their self-built electric race cars, managing their own pit crews, strategising energy usage, and adapting in real time to on-track challenges. All participating students showcased exceptional teamwork, creativity, and resilience throughout the race day.
Defending champions Phoenix Eco Drifters from IGB International School once again claimed the overall victory with a pristine and strategic performance, reaffirming their status as the benchmark in student engineering excellence. Their well-prepared car, coordinated pit stops, and smart energy management led them to a well-deserved win.
The EViE Cup is more than just a race—it is a platform that empowers students to apply science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) in a dynamic and competitive environment, encouraging hands-on learning and real-world problem-solving.
