Kuala Lumpur, 13 October 2005 – Malaysian luxury automobile manufacturer Bufori had the honour of presenting its handcrafted Bufori MKIII La Joya to former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad on 12 October 2005.
During the special encounter, Bufori Founder and Managing Director Gerry Khouri personally introduced Tun Dr Mahathir to the distinctive two-seater luxury coupé, explaining its unique design, engineering and handcrafted construction.

Tun Dr Mahathir, widely recognised for his instrumental role in developing Malaysia’s automotive industry, took a keen interest in the vehicle, examining its features and experiencing the luxurious interior firsthand.
The Bufori MKIII La Joya, whose name means “The Jewel” in Spanish, combines elegant styling inspired by the automobiles of the 1930s with modern engineering and technology. Individually handcrafted in Kuala Lumpur, the car represents Bufori’s commitment to producing world-class luxury automobiles in Malaysia.
