Bufori MKIII La Joya at Macau International Motor Show

Macau, 29 October 2012 – Malaysian luxury automobile manufacturer Bufori successfully participated in the 2012 Macau International Motor Show, held at The Venetian Macao Resort Hotel from 26 to 28 October 2012, marking the company’s first appearance at the prestigious automotive exhibition.

Now in its second edition, the Macau International Motor Show brought together leading international automobile manufacturers, luxury brands and automotive industry representatives, providing an important platform for the growing automotive market in Macau and the wider Greater China region.

For the occasion, Bufori showcased an elegant MKIII La Joya finished in deep metallic burgundy, complemented by a luxurious leather interior and the model’s distinctive contemporary-classic styling.

Presented at the company’s dedicated exhibition stand in Hall E, alongside other prestigious luxury automobile manufacturers, the La Joya offered visitors an opportunity to discover Bufori’s unique interpretation of handcrafted luxury motoring.

The elegant two-seater coupé attracted attention with its sweeping wings, prominent chrome grille, distinctive round headlamps and gracefully proportioned silhouette, providing a striking contrast to the modern sports cars and luxury vehicles featured throughout the exhibition.

The presentation also reflected Bufori’s philosophy of individuality and exclusivity, with the vehicle’s meticulous craftsmanship and luxurious appointments demonstrating the company’s commitment to creating automobiles that are as distinctive as their owners.

The Bufori MKIII La Joya, whose name means “The Jewel” in Spanish, draws inspiration from the elegant luxury automobiles of the 1930s while incorporating contemporary automotive engineering, advanced technology and modern comfort features.

Designed, developed and individually handcrafted at Bufori’s manufacturing facility in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, the La Joya features a lightweight composite body incorporating carbon fibre and Kevlar, a mid-mounted 2.7-litre V6 engine and a luxurious interior finished with fine leather upholstery and carefully selected materials.

Unlike conventional mass-produced automobiles, every Bufori is created according to its owner’s individual preferences, with extensive opportunities to personalise exterior colours, interior finishes, upholstery and bespoke appointments.

Gerry Khouri, Founder and Managing Director of Bufori, commented ahead of the exhibition:

“Macau is a flamboyant city and certainly a splendid platform for our handmade cars.”

Khouri also expressed his hope that the exhibition would give visitors the opportunity to personally experience the quality and craftsmanship of Bufori’s timeless automobiles.

The company’s debut in Macau represented another important step in its international development, particularly as it continued to strengthen its presence in the rapidly growing Asian luxury automobile market.

Earlier in 2012, Bufori had officially introduced its flagship Bufori Geneva luxury saloon to the Chinese market at the Beijing International Motor Show, reinforcing its commitment to establishing a stronger presence among discerning customers in Greater China.

With Macau’s reputation as an international centre for luxury hospitality, entertainment and exclusive lifestyle experiences, the exhibition provided a fitting environment for Bufori’s distinctive automobiles.

The event also presented an opportunity to engage with prospective customers, motoring enthusiasts and potential business partners, while further developing awareness of the marque in a region with an increasing appreciation for exclusive and individually commissioned luxury products.

The 2012 Macau International Motor Show was held under the theme “Brand, Bridge and Opportunity”, featuring approximately 55,000 square metres of exhibition space and an extensive collection of automobiles ranging from contemporary performance cars to some of the world’s most exclusive luxury marques.

For Bufori, participation alongside internationally established manufacturers demonstrated the company’s position within the specialist luxury automobile market and its ability to offer a highly individual alternative to conventional automotive brands.

Founded in Sydney, Australia, in 1986, Bufori has developed into an internationally recognised manufacturer of exclusive handcrafted luxury motor cars, with its manufacturing operations based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The company’s participation in Macau followed earlier appearances at prestigious international automotive exhibitions in New York, Frankfurt, Shanghai, Dubai, Hong Kong and Sydney, reflecting its ongoing commitment to promoting Malaysian automotive craftsmanship around the world.

Bufori’s successful debut at the 2012 Macau International Motor Show represented another milestone in its international journey, further strengthening its presence in Asia and showcasing the distinctive combination of traditional craftsmanship, modern engineering and individuality that defines every Bufori.
