Job Testimonial - Radzi - Head of Final Fitting(Versi Bahasa Malaysia)
My name is Radzi, I am the team leader in the Final Fitting Department at Bufori Motor Car Company in Kuala Lumpur. I have been working for Bufori for 14 years.
In my team, I have very talented craftsmen. Our main assignment is to pre-fit and final-fit interior trim parts to the car.
When we develop a new model such as the recently launched Bufori Geneva, my team-mates and I carried out R&D of some interior designs to suit and fit the Bufori Geneva's stately design. We turn the sketches and drawings from our design team with our input into reality. We create the dashboard, the centre console, and the interior trim panels to make sure that all these parts fit precisely and harmonise with the entire design.
Everything we do is about quality and consistency handcraftsmanship. We must have an eye for little details and to ensure that every vehicle corresponds to our extremely high standard of quality. In a way, my staff and I act as guardian of the Bufori built quality and finish.
Then, there's of course the pride of creating something truly unique. My team and I spend many weeks crafting and fitting the vehicle and experiencing how it slowly takes shape fills me with a sense of accomplishment and pride.
It's unlike building a mass produced car that has no emotions. When a car is completed and about to be shipped to its future owner, it's actually quite emotional, a little bit like a family member leaving the family. But at the end of the day, it's a great feeling of pride that someone, somewhere, appreciates every single detail of our creation.
Working at Bufori has been an enriching experience. It has taught me a lot, both professionally and personally. I have been able to develop my skills, learn new techniques; create stuff like an artist would create art. I also had the opportunity to learn how to work as a team and to meet deadlines. Building a car is a challenging and complex project. It requires all my other team members from other departments to perfectly co-ordinate their tasks in order to complete a car in time.
In that regard, talent and basic skills are important, but they're not everything. To become a good craftsman, discipline, passion and teamwork are essential to enable the whole team to work hand in hand. Each of us is an important link in the chain. The whole project is at risk, if team work is weak. The team spirit in Bufori is a great inspiration to all of us and we are like a very big family.
Working at Bufori has inspired me, and I have learned to never set a limit to my capabilities.
I hope to share this enriching journey and experiences with new team members.
